Waterproofing A Wet Basement

Here are a few of the steps taken to ensure a water tight seal

• We first meet with the client to determine the scope of the project
• We then provide a detailed quote with all of our proposed services included
• Once approved by the homeowners we call for locates
• Once the locates were done we knew where we could excavate wit machinery safely and where we had to hand dig
• Excavate affected area clean the walls and inspect for damages
• We repaired some of the hairline cracks with Polybitume
• We had an epoxy injection done from the inside where we could see dampness but couldn’t see anything from the outside
• We placed a layer of Polybitume on the footing where it meets the wall as per manufacturers specifications
• Applied a primer to the wall to help adhere the Blueskin© membrane
• We then applied a Blueskin© waterproofing membrane at a 45 degree angle where the footing meets the wall
• Applied the Blueskin© to the rest of the foundation walls
• Installed new weepers around the footings and attached to existing with 6′ of 3/4 clear gravel all around the weepers wrapped in geotextile fabric
• We applied DMX AG™ on top of the Blueskin© for added protection in accordance with manufacturers specifications
• We installed drains at all window wells down to the footings
• Backfilled and compacted at various intervals to achieve maximum compaction
• Removed all foreign debris left behind during the original build as it could cause damage to the waterproofing
• Install new window wells and backfill with 3/4 clear gravel for drainage
• Do a final grade of the affected areas to achieve proper drainage away from the house and any other structures
• Spread grass seed around the entire property
